Powell River Translators Conference

Powell River Translators Conference

From September 12–15, 2013, translators from around the world gathered in a small town 100 miles northwest of Vancouver. The purpose? To network, share expertise, and swap ideas at the Powell River Translators Conference.

The Powell River Translators Conference was organized and hosted by Zuzana Kulhánková, an English-Czech translator.

RedLine’s Matthew Kushinka presented on Saturday. His presentation, The Digital Freelancer: Websites, SEO, and Social Media, was on the need for freelancers to have a strong digital presence.

Below are a few images from the weekend at the Powell River Translators Conference.

Lund, BC: The alleged beginning of a road that runs all the way to Chile.
I say "alleged" because I don't think it really goes to Chile.

This was the idyllic view from the porch at The Laughing Oyster, where we ate like kings.
(Kings who had to swat the occasional mosquito.)
