Oregano can be used as an aromatherapy to induce labor. Like Basilica, this herb is said to stimulate the uterus to induce labor. Also like Basilica, oregano is said to be quite effective in inducing labor so it should only be used by women who have passed their pregnancy due date.

Though aromatherapy is considered generally safe and effective to induce labor, expectant mothers should always consult a physician and a natural health consultant first. Those wishing to use aromatherapy to induce labor must wait until they are at least 38 weeks pregnant to do so and most recommend waiting until they are actually past due. Aromatherapy is not right for everyone so those who are pregnant should make sure it is absolutely safe before trying it.
