Article marketing is the process of writing an article on your niche topic and using it to promote yourself and your business. I started writing articles almost two years ago now, and this has been the primary way I have built my list and my online business. The purpose of each article is to give your readers valuable information they can act on immediately. You are a problem solver if you are selling information online, so solve one problem in each of your articles and people will want to find out more from you. Many times I am directing my reader to an affiliate product or program that will be beneficial to the area they are currently learning about or need help with. I describe both the features and the benefits of this product or service and then use my resource box at the end of the article to send them to the sales page where they can choose whether it is something they want to purchase or not.

Other articles I write are solely for the purpose of building my own list. I give my readers tips, valuable content, and information they can use to move forward in their business and level of knowledge. At the end of these articles I encourage them to visit my site and sign up to receive even more inf

ormation and invitations to my weekly teleseminars. Once my article is written I begin the submission process. During the first few months I was submitting my articles exclusively to ezine articles, the largest article directory on the internet. Then I began to experiment with other directories, but none of them seemed to offer the exposure that I was looking for. I still submit each of my articles to ezine articles, but now I also use a site called articlemarketerfree. They also have a paid version, but the free membership will get your article wide distribution to directories, ezines, and publishers that have an interest in your particular niche. My article titles play a large part in my article marketing strategy. In other words, I want to give each article a title that is keyword rich. If I am writing about Yorkshire terriers and how to train them, I will begin my title with the words Yorkshire terrier training in the very beginning. This is helpful in getting your article on page one of Google for those particular keywords. When people can find you and your information in the organic searches, you will have a steady stream of prospects who are interested in your specific topic.

Article marketing is a worthwhile method of building your business by increasing your visibility and credibility online.
