As the festive period rolls around again, we oversee the best and worst practices for your Christmas cards decisions and greeting message ideas. There are innumerable variations on this greeting, many cards expressing more religious sentiment, or containing a poem, prayer or Biblical verse; others stay away from religion with an all-inclusive “Season’s greetings”. Firstly you need to accept that some human beings share the same gene pool as Ebenezer Scrooge, the general festive period sends shivers down their cold winter bones. No matter how much tinsel you throw at these guys, you will never summon a Yule tiding. Now, it’s in your best interest to not send these types of people Christmas cards as it will just make them more miserable about the fact that Santa isn’t a man who lives at the north pole! Not even a funny Christmas card will lift the spirits of these party poopers!
Secondly you have the office crush; some people think that Valentine ‘s Day is the only time of year you can make an inappropriate sexual innuendos towards your fellow work colleagues. Think again young apprentice, this is a perfect time of year to wish a very warm season’s greetings with a Christmas card. Write a nice personal messa
ge and then load the unidentified love missile with an abundance of kisses and loves. This type of gesture has your foundations totally covered for the final approach in the office Christmas party. Hey if you feeling particularly fruity Casanova then even send a rude Christmas card. Thirdly you have the devout Christmas collective, these are the guys who start humming ‘Rudolph the reindeer’ in the early weeks of September. The type of people who claim outright they spotted a red chested Robin on the way to work in August! Please these people no end with a lovely festive spirit warming Christmas card. Watch as their face lights up as their pile of Christmas greetings cards grow to unmanageable levels, as their whole body and Christmas themed jumper slowly disappear behind the wall of festive themed greetings cards. These are the people who keep the Christmas dream alive, shooting down the office corridors with bunches of mistletoe and sloppy wet lips, delivering the quintessential granny kiss on the smacker.
Whatever your methods remember that the gesture of a card is something that can’t really be replaced, nothing sends the message home quite as sweetly as a festive themed token. With the ever changing digital world, one constant tradition will never change and that’s what makes this time of year so magic.
