OK, so don’t pretend like you didn’t have a BIC 4-color ballpoint and you loved it, because I did (and now do again) and it was the best pen ever at the time. I was thrilled when I came across this pen on my recent trip to Boston at Bob Slate Stationer. It was a great store with a ton of awesome office supplies, and I just couldn’t pass this pen up. If you dont live near a Bob Slate Stationer, you can also pick up this classic on Amazon.com in multiple … [Read more…]
In honor of opening day for the 2009 baseball season, I’ve decided to stretch a bit and write about a pen and some baseball related things. This might be my first review where I am writing about a pen that I own, but have never actually used and never really intend to use. I am almost certain that I dont need to write with it to know that I wont like how it writes, I mean its a pretty cheap looking ballpoint tip, so I cant imagine it writes all that … [Read more…]
Typically when I think of pens, I have to say that 3M is not the first brand that I think of. On the other hand, when I think of office supplies in general, then 3M and Post-it certainly come to the top of my mind. I think sticky notes are one of the most commonly thought of office supplies, so the fact that they are starting to offer a wider line of pens should come as no surprise. The Post-it Flag + pen that I am reviewing today comes directly from … [Read more…]
I actually forgot for a while that I even had this Uni-ball Alpha Gel HD Ballpoint Pen .7mm pen until I was straightening out my desk a bit last night and I came across it again. I had initially purchased it from JetPens.com a few months ago and used it for a little bit before writing this review. For the most part, I don’t usually buy ballpoint pens to use unless there is something particularly unique about them, and this pen fits that criteria because of … [Read more…]
The Uni-Ball Jetstream ballpoint .7mm Pen is one of the very few ballpoint pens that I can honestly say that I like to write with. In addition to enjoying writing with this pen, I also have to say that this is one of the more attractively designed pens that I have seen in a long time, excluding any pen that you might pay upwards of $25 for…luckily this awesome pen can be had from JetPens.com for only $2.25, and comes in red, black, and blue. The thing … [Read more…]
We have reached the final post in this 3 part series on the Uni-ball Power Tank Ballpoint Pen. The results might be a bit surprising. I managed to successfully freeze all of the pens in a test tube and get some more writing samples from each of them. I also did a quick test to see how each of these pens write on wet paper. One thing I realize that I did not do is compare another ballpoint pen to the Power Tank, I might have to try that at a later date. … [Read more…]
Well, I’ve got my experiment for part 2 set up, so I thought Id post a quick update with some pictures too. We have a Uniball Power Tank frozen for this review to see how it handles extreme conditions. As I had mentioned previously, I mostly use the Uniball Power Tank to track my gas mileage, so I am often writing on gas receipts leaning against my steering wheel or some other non flat surface that requires the pen to be on an angle. In addition to … [Read more…]
I don’t plan on making all of my review multiple parts, however I do have an experiment in mind that I want to try with this Uniball Power Tank, so I think it requires a multi-part approach. The Uni-ball Power Tank is designed to function in difficult situations such as wet surfaces, cold temperatures, and upside down. Jetpens.com offers this pen for $3.00 in multiple body colors (red, white, blue, light blue, and pink and they also offer red, blue, and … [Read more…]
