Bread shouldn’t get a bad wrap

As a nation we consume a lot of sandwiches. The humble sarnie, over the years, has become a staple part of the British lunchtime diet due to its simplicity, massive choice of fillings and, perhaps most importantly, its deliciousness! But what bread should you be choosing in order to maintain a healthy balance? Choosing healthier bread for your lifestyle can make a big difference to what you get out, but every type of bread has its little perks that make it great.

From seeded batches to soft white rolls, the choice when entering the supermarket is vast, but there’s certainly something for available for everyone – whatever your tastes. But whatever type of bread you choose to enjoy, it’s important to recognise the high levels of carbohydrate and moderate salt levels hidden within its grainy goodness. We obviously need both of these things in order to function at our best, but it’s also important to remember to consume everything in moderation!
