In the time of a new year, Bregruet has prepared a charity auction again – to auction its Breguet Classique 5157. All benefits would go to the New York Philharmonic’s School Partnership Program. The auction lasts from 12:01 am on December 30, 2010 to the midnight of January 15th, 2011. The auctioned watch – Classique 5157 is a same model as the one worn by Alan Gilbert, the New York Philhanmonic Music Director. It is a concise and elegant timepiece. Measured in 38mm, the watch case is made of 18-carat yellow gold. It is an extra-thin one. The dial is toned in silvered gold, marked by the Roman numerals, with the middle of the dial clean and clear. The deep blue thin hour and minute hands are made exquisite with a hole near the end. The dial is hand-engraved on the rose engine protected by sapphire crystal face and caseback. With a brown leather strap, the watch is water resistant to 30m. The beneficiary – New York Philharmonic’s School Partnership Program, is a program that encourages students’ creativity and comprehension of music through experiencing symphonic music. The students could receive more opportunities through the program and develop listening skills and performance skill etc. Theodore Wiprud, the Director of Education in New York Philharmonic also commented that “Breguet’s generous gesture of support could not be more timely” to encourage music education among students when music education is under unprecedented pressure to develop. Auctioned through the eBay, this Charity Auction again shows Breguet’s intense interest and attention on art development.
