British Summer Style Guide

The British summer is proving to be a bit of a washout, so men’s jeans are fast becoming a major player in our summer look. They may be a staple year round, but this year we’re wearing them even more as the opportunity to wear our shorts seems to be diminishing.

Cue your jeans – from skinny to slouch, invest in a variety of styles that you can dress up or down for all occasions. Acid wash denim is seeing a bit of a comeback thanks to a revival of eighties trends. Wear yours with a bright hoodie and high tops to give the era a noughties twist.

Coloured jeans are also a great way of updating your collection for summer. You can go bright with red, emerald and yellow shades or choose something a little more muted with pastel tones or white. Try a new take on colour blocking and wear your coloured denim with other block colours for a standout summer look regardless of the weather.

If coloured denim isn’t for you, then your staple black, blue and grey jeans are all still available this summer. Bring yours up to date for spring-summer by wearing them with some of the season’s hottest new trends. Bold printed shirts, striped tees and contrast collar polo shirts all offer a new way of styling your jeans.

With a huge collection of men’s jeans from £25 at River Island, it’s your ultimate destination for some new denim.
