Chinese designer Daizi Zheng has created a conceptual cell phone for Finnish brand Nokia that could be powered by sugary drinks. Zheng proposes how the phone could run on battery power that utilizes enzymes to generate electricity from carbohydrates. The bio-battery generates electricity from carbohydrates, using special enzymes as catalysts. Along the way, the unit generates oxygen and water. Daishi Zheng found that phone battery as a power source, it is expensive, consuming valuable resources on manufacturing, presenting a disposal problem and harmful to the surroundings. The Bio battery gets the potential to operate 3 to 4 times longer on one charge than conventional lithium batteries and it might be fully biodegradable. Recharging means investing in a new coke can, so its no doubt cheap in theory, but mass manufacture of it itself will probably be expensive. There are coca cola phone more causes of BioFuel like edible foods including edible oil seeds, Corn and Jatropha. Bio batteries aren’t all theory. None other than Sony has been toying around, literally, with all the concept of Bio batteries. Geek.com very recently covered a study on toys that use few drops of sugar filled liquid to power its small toys, batteries given by Sony. The concept is applying bio battery to change the original battery to create a pollution free environment. Bio battery is surely an environmentally safe energy generates electricity from carbohydrates (currently sugar) and utilizes enzymes as the catalyst. Unfortunately, Nokia will never be developing the greenphone prototype further in the near future. nopicture-5996033
