Volvo’s revival over the past decade has been nothing short of remarkable; transforming from a brand that was known purely for its boxy estate cars into a manufacturer that produces genuinely pretty cars.
But aesthetics are not the only field where the Swedish marque has upped its game. Ride, comfort, functionality and levels of luxury have all been focused on to give their new breed of cars an overall feel of quality.
Now, Volvo has taken this new attitude towards car design and manufacture and teamed it with a genuine desire to create vehicles that are as kind on the environment as they are on the eye.
‘DRIVe’, Volvo’s new environmental philosophy and signature, is all about their holistic approach to environmental issues, commitment to sustainable mobility and the ambition to contribute to a better environment.
It focuses on being confident in the environmental credentials of their products and our customers’ expression of their responsible purchase. In simple terms, it’s about using less fuel to create less Carbon dioxide and, in the process, creating environmental cars that are a pleasure to own.
It includes producing environmental cars that not only have top-notch engine development but aerodynamics, rolling resistance to airflow and lowered chassis.
In corporate terms, this means the cost of ownership for a company is reduced through lower/zero VED, higher capital allowances and less money spent on fuel. For the driver, it means a lower benefit in kind tax for the company car.
