Goji Juice vs. Noni Juice

Healthy eating is the best form of activity to promote a fit body and a longer lifetime. The search for effective supplemental nutrients to give one the healthy edge can take many forms. A couple of the current growing trends toward fruit juice supplements includes the use of the Himalayan Goji Berry juice and the Hawaiian Noni Fruit juice. It should be stated directly that you should only obtain juice made from the berries or a natural concentrate only since it is the naturally occurring nutrients in the original fruit that have the health benefits.

Both of these healthy drinks are purported to provide a rich mix of both phytonutrients and antioxidants. Goji juice has an extra edge over the Noni fruit in that it provides special fruit sugars, polysaccharides, which are extremely beneficial for the body. Taste is very much a matter of personal opinion although it is usually agreed upon that while the Goji Berry has a very pleasant taste, the Noni fruit can be somewhat unpleasant at first and requires one to “acquire” the taste for it.

The Goji Berry is native to the high altitude regions of China, Tibet and Mongolia and is the fruit of the Lycium Barbarum plant. It has been a central ingredient in many traditional Chinese medicines for millennia. In part, this healthy effect comes from the polysaccharides produced in the fruit, which enhance and strengthens the body’s immune system. With a cocktail of nineteen amino acids, the Goji Berry provides all eight of the essential amino acids required in the human body. Increasing the support of the immune system is the fact that the Goji berry provides more Vitamin C that even oranges.

Goji Berries also provide a wide assortment of antioxidants. As well as beta-carotene and zeaxanthin, the Goji berry provides a number of B-complex vitamins, vitamin E, Betaine and essential fatty acids. It is truly one of the most nutrient rich foods on the planet.

The Noni plant, Morinda citrifolia, is a part of the coffee family. Growing throughout the Indian subcontinent and the Polynesian islands, the Noni grows in a variety of soils and locations. It is considered a “famine” food among the islanders as it can provide a nutritional food year-round. What tests and research has been done on the Noni fruit shows that, contrary to popular health advertisements, it is the powdered form or the complete fruit that provides the maximum amount of nutrition. While it is somewhat bitter, it provides carbohydrates, dietary fiber, proteins and is low in fat. All these nutrients tend to remain in the pulped or powdered form but are generally lost when the fruit is juiced.

A study of the history and folk culture surrounding the Noni fruit will show that healthy benefits have been ascribed to the use of many parts of the plant but what scientific studies have been made demonstrate that juicing it removes most of the inherent benefits. So if you must choose between Goji Juice and Noni Juice, a bit of study shows it is really a no-brainer. Goji maintains its value in the juice form and Noni does not.
