Green Office Supplies Reviewed

A little while ago, the folks from ReBinder reached out to me regarding their zero waste binders and other office supplies, and they were generous enough to send some over to me to review.  In this review, we will take a look at some of their binders, but I’ve also got a few other products from them that I will be reviewing later.  It is also important to note that beyond the “green office supplies” classification, these binders are also assembled in the … [Read more…]

Typically I don’t like to review an office supply product if I can’t get it in my hands to test for myself, so when the nice folks from InkCycle offered to send over some of their grenk remanufactured ink cartridges I was quickly frustrated when I learned that my newer printer was not supported.  Not wanting to turn down the opportunity to review a cool new earth friendly office supply, I decided to share this opportunity with the awesome folks who have … [Read more…]

Last year I had the privilege of meeting the fine folks from Three by Three Seattle at the National Stationery show and I ended up reviewing their bamboo dry erase entry butler which I also  picked  as one of the top office supplies for 2009.  This year when I stopped by their booth at the National Stationery Show, I saw tons of new products that I’ve since been waiting to get my hands on to review.  Lucky for me, I just got a nice box full of stuff from … [Read more…]

Here is another review of a product from ThinkGeek that I picked up recently.  I couldn’t resist the fact that this ruler is not only made from recycled material, but it’s also just really dorky…like me.  If you cant tell from the picture, this ruler is actually made from an old computer motherboard, I don’t think you can get any more geeky than that when it comes to office supplies. … [Read more…]

The Dixon Ticonderoga Renew Pencil (via Amazon) is a unique green office supply that is made of recycled old tires.  With all of the green products out there, I thought it was a pretty original idea to make some pencils out of used tires. … [Read more…]

The 9 1/2″ x 6″ Staples Eco Friendly Notebook with Bagasse Paper from Staples caught my eye the other day when I was in the store.  I’ve been accused of liking the “plain and simple” look for most things, and I think thats what caught my eye about this notebook.  When I picked it up I saw that it was 80% composed of sugarcane waste (also called bagasse) and had some environmentally friendly water and vegetable based inks used to print on it. … [Read more…]

Here is my first review of a product that I found at the 2010 National Stationery Show, and hopefully Ill have a bunch more to come that I will spread out over the next few weeks.  This is an environmentally friendly composition book which is very cleverly called “The Decomposition Book” in recognition of its green characteristics.  There were lots of green office supplies at the Stationery Show, but this one by far had the most creative name, along with … [Read more…]

Green office supplies  are the topic of the day on this Earth Day.  I’m not a huge fan of multi-billion dollar government-run programs to subsidize things or thrust such burdens on us as consumers or business owners, I much rather leave it to individuals to do what they feel is right, and what makes the most sense for them. With that said, here are some options for green office supplies that I think are worth considering if you are looking to make your … [Read more…]

With Earth Day right around the corner (April 22nd) I thought it would be an appropriate time to do a review of some green office supplies.  This Biodegradable 3 ring binder that the nice folks from Samsill sent over to me to check out seemed like a great place to start.     … [Read more…]

Environmentally friendly, or green office supplies are appearing more and more often, so I thought I would take a look at the Paper Mate Biodegradable Pen that I picked up from OfficeMax and which is also available in more varieties here from Amazon.  There is also a biodegradable mechanical pencil version which I didn’t pick up to test out, but judging from the pictures of it, its got a similar look and feel. … [Read more…]

This environmentally friendly notebook was sent to me by O’BON a  little while ago, and I’ve been a little slow in getting around to reviewing it. The unique thing about it is that the paper in it is made from sugar cane pulp which is also known as Bagasse.  This green notebook can be found at the O’BON site here, along with many other green office supplies from them. … [Read more…]

I received these brightly colored recycled pencils to review from the nice folks over at O’BON, who make a ton of nice green office supplies that are earth friendly, fun, and nicely designed.  The version I am reviewing today are the Rainbow Series pack of 10 2B pencils. … [Read more…]

Following up on my review of the ecosystem journals, I wanted to now take a look at the series of planners that they also offer which are made with the same 100% post consumer recycled materials, and are also manufactured in the US.  The manufacturer of these planners and journals was kind enough to send these samples over for me to review, so I will also be doing a giveaway of the planner and one of the journals that I previously reviewed.  Keep an eye … [Read more…]

Sometimes it’s not enough to just have some unique or cool office supplies, it helps to know that you are also using environmentally friendly office supplies, and supporting American jobs.  In the case of these journals from ecosystem, you can accomplish both of those goals.  The folks at ecosystem were kind enough to send over these three Ecosystem Environmentally Friendly Journals samples for us to review.  For now we are only going to focus on two of … [Read more…]

Back in May when I went to the National Stationery Show at the Javitz Center in NY, I met the nice folks from Three by Three Seattle.  I actually remember doing a double take when I passed their booth and saw something I never saw before…a bamboo dry erase board, but it wasn’t just a dry erase board, it was much more.  Ever since that day, I’ve been in contact with Gwen from Three by Three who kept me up to date on their production process, and has now … [Read more…]
