Fashion has gone through a pretty long history. Although human beings began to pay attention to clothing since time immemorial, when they tried to cover some certain parts of their bodies, yet it was not until the 19th century when people had begun to put arts in the way they dressed themselves. Actually today, fashionistas should owe their thanks to the first fashion literature circulated in America and Britain long time ago. As seen from the records, it is this literature that paved way for the start and development of fashion. At that time, fashion, according to the literatures, actually meant the way of dressing decently and properly. Though fashion at first was always associated with ladies and femininity, however now, after so many years of development and the through all the changes in trends, much attention has been paid to fashion for men, and male clothing styles have been included in most collections. People’s zeal for fashion has never faded, and never will. Till today, fashion still remains one of the hottest topics in people’s talks and on the Internet, television, and print media, and everywhere else. But what made fashion flourish even more are the people behind it – the brilliant designers. It could be remembered that Charles Frederick Worth was the first famous fashion designer that many considers as the father of Haute Couture. After Worth, several other fashion designers followed his footsteps and even enhanced the once Worth has spend all of his lifetime to. So, if you are asking who is going to be that name written on the tag of your workwear uniforms or shirts then you probably is missing the mark. When we are talking about fashion nowadays, there are some huge names of designers which will not get neglected. Here are some of the most famous fashion designers of the 21st century, living and dead, that has made much difference in the world of fashion. Chanel – Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel holds one of the greatest stories of “from-rugs-to-riches.” Chanel was born in 1883 and at a very young age she has work with a tailor in Paris in 1901. The first apparels she made were hats. But just 9 years after she started working she has founded her own business and managed to make it flourish even more. Prada – Miucca Prada has a PhD in political science. She is known for the luxurious leather bags and trench coats. She has become her grandfather’s heir of the leather company he founded years ago and become a household name and even been featured in a movie. Ralph Lauren – If you knew about the line of clothing named Polo then you are aware of Ralph Lauren. Lauren is an American fashion designer who started his designing career in 1967 by making ties. Then his next feat followed a batch of men’s wear in 1968 and women’s wear in ‘71. He reached the top of his career when he was commissioned to make the costumes for the movie “The Great Gatsby” that starred Robert Redford. According to Wikipedia, he was the first designer to have launched a complete home collection in 1983. Calvin Klein – Klein first designed coats and in 1969, this designer has been featured on Vogue. After some discoveries, he decided to make other garments for his clients. Now, he also has a line of perfumes and other accessories. Yves St. Laurent – An all favorite designer of Hollywood stars, Yves has become one of the most recognizable fashion designer of all time with the prestigious 1920′ line. He was the one who spearheaded the RTW or ready-to-wear fashion. These names are sure to be remembered by people who are into fashion, around the globe. They will be recorded in the history of fashion and it’s like the Hall of Fame in the sports field, where their glory will never fade.
