Biscuits go well with pretty much everything. If you fancy a cup of tea (and who doesn’t most of the time) then a biscuit, pretty much regardless of type, will make it into a fantastic experience. The problem is, as a nation, we constantly rely on massive corporations to provide us with our biscuit hit when we could quite easily be making them ourselves! I, like many others, was skeptical when it came to the whole ‘make a mess in the kitchen’ thing, but that’s before I realised how easy it was to provide my cuppa its soul mate all by myself!
By having a search online for 10 minutes I found a whole plethora of different options at my disposal, so it was just a case of which one I was going to have a crack at. I’ve always loved cookies – especially the massive chewy ones – so this seemed like a good place to start. I found a biscuit recipe online that also featured my second favourite thing, which is white chocolate, so instantly I knew it was the right time to go forth to the kitchen and see if making biscuits was as easy as everyone says it is.
Now, I’m not going to sit here and write that it all went fantastically well first time and everything went without a hitch. If I’m being completely honest, my first batch was a bit of nightmare due to my poor time keeping issues and overdoing the mixture slightly, but I wasn’t deterred. I had bought enough of all the necessary ingredients to accommodate for my very basic kitchen prowess, so I went in for another go.
I’m happy to report, with a little bit more care and attention on my part, that the second batch went swimmingly – even my friends were impressed! Needless to say I celebrated with a cuppa and a biscuit!
