Sage
Sage is an herbal remedy for strep throat. Sage has natural anti-inflammatory properties that keep swelling down. It also leaves a protective coating on the throat. To use sage as an herbal remedy for strep throat simply boil the leaves to make sage tea. If the taste of sage tea doesn’t agree, mix it with another tea.
Garlic

Both will strengthen the immune system. Make a tea by boiling a tablespoon each of honey and lemon juice in a cup of water. This tea is very soothing to a sore inflamed throat.
Salt Water
Although not technically herbal, salt water has been used extensively as a sore or strep throat natural remedy. Gargling with warm salt water eases strep throat pain. A salt water gargle is an effective germ killer as well. Just dissolve a tablespoon of salt in an 8 ounce glass of warm water. It might seem this herbal remedy would sting but the opposite is true. It actually doesn’t sting at all.
Vinegar
Here’s another herbal remedy that sounds as if it would be painful. Vinegar will take away the pain of strep throat almost immediately. Like salt water, vinegar is a powerful germ killer. You can gargle with a solution of vinegar and water to ease strep throat pain. A teaspoon of vinegar can also be taken alone or followed by a teaspoon of soothing honey.
Chamomile
Chamomile tea is often used as an herbal remedy for strep throat. Chamomile is a natural fever reducer. This herbal remedy also calms inflammation caused by strep throat. Chamomile tea is readily available in most supermarkets. Try adding a teaspoon of lemon to fight germs and a teaspoon of honey to soothe inflamed throat tissues and promote faster healing.
