Instead of losing weight, some people have the goal of gaining weight. That’s right, gaining weight is hard for people with high metabolism. Some of them are born scrawny and thin, some want to gain weight for their sports and there are some people who just have the desire to be big. Whatever the case, gaining weight is simple if you know how to choose the right foods to eat.
When attempting to gain weight, you have two choices. The first option is to eat whatever you want and risk being fat and obese. The second is to selectively choose foods that are calorie dense and healthy so the weight you gain is mostly muscle. The obvious answer to this question is of course option number two.
Olive oil
Olive oil contains a load of fat and calories. Each tablespoon of olive oil will give the body around 120 calories. By simply using olive oil on all your foods instead of other oils, you can easily add about 500 calories in your diet. Olive oil also contains monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Both of which are healthy fats and essential for bodily functions.
Peanut butter
Peanut butter is normally the choice of food for bodybuilders who want to gain weight. One scoop of peanut butter has about 200 calories. They also provide a good amount of protein and healthy fats. Add them to your meals and see your weight go up fast.
Banana
Finally, a fruit that can pack on mass. Similar to other fruits, the banana contains a huge amount of anti-oxidants and minerals. The difference the banana has compared to other fruits is its high amount of calories. One banana packs about 150 calories. Simply replace the other fruits in your diet with the banana and your weight will increase.
Butter
Butter has gotten a bad reputation in these past few years. The reason behind this is that some people mistake saturated fat and its effects on the body. Fat will not make you fat unless there is an insulin spike. As long as carbohydrates are not present when consuming fat, fat storage will not be substantial. That is why you shouldn’t feel any guilt when eating butter.
Dark chocolate
Dark chocolates are chocolate that contains over 70% of cocoa. It may taste a little bitter but it is much better and healthier than white chocolate. Chocolate contains a good amount of antioxidants as well. Because chocolate contains carbohydrates, try to limit them only after your workout.
Gaining weight is no easy task. It becomes even harder when you become heavier. The body simply does not like being too heavy and will do anything in its power to be lighter. In some cases, force feeding is a must for gaining weight. Of course, you could just eat 4 Bic Macs a day and gain weight that way. Although you’ll be much fatter, it is also much easier. If you do not want to get fat while gaining weight then start eating these foods mentioned in this article every single day.
