You need to work closely under the supervision of any master plumber and have done at least 300 hours of work. When applying for a plumber’s license you need to be at least 18 years old. There is also an exam that you need to pass before gaining the certificate.
- Enrolling in a plumbing course. Although enrolling in a plumbing course is not a requirement, it is a good idea to enroll into one. There are many schools offering plumbing courses. There are training centers that are made for this purpose. It is very easy to enroll in plumbing courses so that you are on your way to become a full fledge one. These centers offer courses that could train you the basics and theories of plumbing. They can also teach you advance stuff for difficult situation that you may encounter. Usually these centers don’t require anything to be able to enroll. The only thing that they look into is the willingness of the person to learn. Although these courses can cost a little, it is considered to be a good investment because after completing the course then you are equipped to handle any plumbing problem presented to you.
- There are some skills that you need to master before becoming a plumber. One is the fact that you should have good analytical skills. Most plumbing work requires you to analyze certain things to be able to fix them and good thinking can make you achieve solutions faster. Another skill that you should develop is the ability to communicate. In order to get a client, you should be able to speak well so that they can trust you with their problems.
