The Boogie Board – LCD Writing Tablet

I’ve had my eye on this Boogie Board LCD Writing Tablet at ThinkGeek for a while now, so I was just waiting to find some other items to order along with it.  Lets take a look at this unique replacement for a note a note pad or white board.

With a writing surface of about 5″ x 7.25″, the Boogie Board LCD Writing Tablet is kind of like an electronic white board (but in black) that can be used for short messages or quick notes.  At only 1/8″ thick and just over 4 oz. in weight, its highly portable and easily stowed away at most any desk.  In the picture above you can see on top there is a metal stylus held on by a clip that is an extra accessory to purchase, and you can also see the neoprene sleeve (also an extra purchase) to store it in.  The case also has a slot to store the stylus in.

The board is pretty easy to write on, and erasing it is even easier.  A simple push of a button up top flashes the screen, eliminating everything you have written.  According to the site, the tablet can handle approximately 50,000 uses, but don’t hold your breath waiting for me to test that…I think I’m somewhere around use 25 or so at this point.  Alternatively they also say that that the battery will last about 6 years given 20 uses per day.

The Boogie Board LCD Writing Tablet is a pretty interesting item, it certainly is not essential, but it is an interesting replacement for a whiteboard because it is much cleaner and neater, plus if you dont like the smell of white board markers this may be a good option for you.
