If you are nervously preparing for your first date, you probably want to make sure you do everything right and make the very best first impression. Making sure you’ve had a good couple of squirts of Lynx deodorant, before you leave the house, is only the first essential criterion on your list of things to do.

Item number one on this essential checklist will be to ensure you leave more than enough time to get ready before the date. There is no point using the Lynx deodorant hours and hours before you meet the date, as despite what they might say, the smell can wear off.

When eating anything during that day, try to be sensible about this. For example, don’t go with your mates for a hot vindaloo curry or eat garlic bread: you need to bear in mind that this is always going to prove to be off-putting to your date. Also, don’t go eating things like spinach or other foods that may be inclined to stick to between your teeth. If you do, just make sure you clean your teeth meticulously before leaving the house.

Clothing wise, it is always a good idea to not wear anything that is too bright or garish on your first date. Choose something that is very smart but casual; unless you have booked a more formal venue, in which case you should definitely make the full effort.

Look to apply the aftershave about an hour before you leave for the date – this way the smell would have had time to settle down and you should not be overpowering. However, where the deodorant is concerned, it is always a good idea to apply this nearer to the time in which you intend to leave. Make sure the deodorant is not a cheap and nasty product, as on a first date you are likely to be nervous and this, in turn, can lead to a lot more in the way of perspiration.

In the excitement to get ready for your first date, especially if you haven’t been on one for a while, there can be so many things that you might overlook. Follow these very simple steps to help to ensure a higher level of success.
