Megan Fox is an actress that was born and raised in the United States. Her career started out slowly with small parts in television shows and movies. But she made her big break with the film Transformers in 2007. Since that time, Fox has become a household name due to her bold statements to the press and her tumultuous personal life.

Megan Fox was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to Darlene Tonachio and Franklin Foxx, who had taken the last “x” off of his last name. Fox’s parents divorced when she was still very young and she and her older sister remained in the custody of their mother. Her mother soon remarried and both her stepfather and her mother had very stringent rules that the children were expected to live by. Megan has said quite often that she wasn’t even allowed to have a boyfriend while growing up. Because of this, Megan branched out on her own as soon as she was old enough to support herself.

Although Megan had been involved in dance and drama lessons since the age of 5, she never really believed in formal education. She has talked in several interviews about how high school was difficult for her because girls hated her due to her good looks and ability to befriend boys much easier than she could girls. Because of the difficulties she had experienced in high school, she chose not to attend college, but focus on her acting career instead.

Megan Fox landed her first role in the movie Holiday in the Sun in 2001 when she was only 16 years old. She played a spoiled heiress in the film and her character was also the enemy of Alex Stewart, the character that was played by Ashley Olsen. The film was not a hit and didn’t even make it the theaters, as it was released directly to DVD. In 2002, Fox had a bit more luck when she landed the part of Star in the television show Ocean Avenue. Although she saw a bit more success with this hour-long show in which she appeared in 122 episodes. However, this show was canceled after only two seasons.

For the next two years, Megan Fox appeared as a guest star in several television shows including What I Like About You. But her acting career still wasn’t really a success and although she appeared in the movie Bad Boys II in 2003, it was only as an extra and she got no credit for the part. It was in 2004 that Hollywood really started to take notice of the beautiful Megan Fox. Not only did she land a guest starring role on the hit comedy Two and a Half Men, but she also landed bigger parts in movies such as Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, which also starred Lindsay Lohan. It was also in 2004 that Fox landed a regular spot on the TV show Hope & Faith.

2007 was the year in which Megan Fox really exploded onto the movie scene. It was at this time that she was awarded the part of Mikaela Banes in Transformers. For this part she was awarded an MTV Movie Awards in the category of “Breakthrough Performance.” For this role she also won many Teen Choice Awards. After that time she also landed roles in films such as How to Win Friends and Alienate People, and Whore. However, she was still mostly remembered for her success in Transformers and because of that she was asked to come back to reprise the role for the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. In that same year, Fox also landed the main role in Jennifer’s Body, in which she plays a possessed cheerleader who feeds off of young men.

Megan Fox is currently in pre-production mode with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Austin Green, whom she met on the set of Hope & Faith. She also has a film that’s set to be released in 2010 and that will be titled Jonah Hex. It’s clear from the actress’ list of film credits that she has a come a long way from that small town in Tennessee to making herself a household name.
