Preventing dried-hair is an important measure in keeping it healthy. However, many of the products sold commercially can actually do more harm than good. A regular use of a commercial project can be quite damaging. Sebum is the oily substance that makes hair look all greasy, and it’s depleted with a lot of washing with chemical products. Because of this, the glands producing the sebum send out an excessive amount in compensation, and your hair can wind up looking damaged. Instead, you want to keep it natural.
Natural Products
If you don’t like putting together natural ingredients at home, use the moisturizer of all-natural companies such as Tom’s of Maine, Aveda or Arbonne. Arbonne takes being natural seriously, and it’s an all-vegan company. Aveda takes being natural to mean being as organic as possible. Tom’s of Maine creates products that strive to be both of these things. However, there are many natural remedies that you need look no further than your kitchen to find.
Avocado
Avocado is a great resource for healthy hair. Simply mash up a single avocado. Rub it into your hair after letting it dry a bit from the shower; your hair should still be damp. Leave it in for half an hour, then wash it out with water only. Apply no further products. It should leave your hair looking pristine and moisturized (without oily residue).
Bananas
A banana is also good for using on your hair in its raw, natural state. Mash up a banana well. You can simply put it in a bowl and smash it up with a spoon. Then simply apply it to your hair. If you have long hair, you may want to use two to three bananas. A banana can be applied to dry, wet or damp hair. Leave it in for 45 minutes, then thoroughly rinse your hair with warm water.
Oils
Jojoba oil is a common solution as well. It is known for giving hair sheen. Its molecular structure mirrors that of sebum, but it won’t leave the same oily look with moderate use. For deeply damaged hair, you’ll need to leave the oil in overnight. This can be done as a treatment for a week to help hair, but it should be washed out in the morning. You may want to consider using other oils as well, such as almond, rosemary or wheat germ oil. Apply them in a similar manner. If you want to use oil on a daily basis for shiny hair, do so by applying them for 30 minutes, then rinsing the hair thoroughly with water.
Eggs
Raw egg is also said to help moisturize the hair and keep it looking healthy. Some prefer to apply the egg by itself. Others mix it with mayo. It should be placed all over the hair and scalp. It should be applied to dry hair. After leaving it in for thirty minutes, you should thoroughly rinse your hair with lukewarm to hot water.
It Starts With You
What you put into your mouth is as important as what you put on your hair. You should also make sure that you are eating a balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables if you want to have shiny, healthy hair. You should take a multivitamin if you think that you aren’t eating enough of a balanced, varied diet because vitamins are essential for healthy hair.
