Quick and Easy Pasta Recipes

Pasta is a food that is popular all over the world. It is enjoyed by people of all ages and can be enjoyed in a variety of different ways. You can choose to buy dried pasta that is already made or you can make pasta from scratch. Many people are surprised at how easy it is to make their own pasta and to use quick and easy pasta recipes. Once you have tried eating fresh pasta, you may never go back to the processed pasta that is found in grocery stores.

Fresh pasta only requires four ingredients. They are flour, egg, oil and water. One cup of flour is combined with a beaten egg. A small amount of olive oil can be added although this is optional. The flour and egg is mixed together. Cold water is added to the mix and the dough should be kneaded for several minutes. The dough should be dry, but it should hold together.

Form the dough into a ball. Wrap the dough ball up in plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator for a half an hour to rest. Once th4e dough has rested it is ready to be made into the pasta shape that you want. This can be done by hand or using a machine that is designed for this purpose. To make the pasta by hand roll the dough out on a floured surface. Make it as thin as you can. The pasta can now be cut into strips or it can be formed into whatever shape you want. That is all it takes to make fresh pasta.

Cooking fresh pasta is also very simple. You add the pasta to boiling water that has been salted and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes. Take the pasta out and let it drain. For a simple, but delicious pasta dish, heat up a sauté pan and melt some butter in it. Add some garlic and the pasta to the pan and mix thoroughly. Add some fresh basil on top. If you want some protein in it, add some chicken or shrimp. The dish only takes a few minutes to make and will be enjoyed by all.
