1- Register online.
Did you know a lot of health insurance companies have websites? These websites allow you to check your explanation of benefits (EOB), medical records and bills. You can even e-mail a medical professional like a doctor or nurse with questions about an illness or injury. These types of online services save you time and money. They also allow you to participate more actively in your healthcare.
2- Open a FSA.

Get three competitive quotes within the price range you want to pay. Then, select the best plan with the most coverage. Repeat this process every five years in order to account for any life changes.
5- Ask for incentives.
Work out? Don’t smoke? Tell your employer. Most companies give discounts to people with these types of healthy habits. Why? Research shows that people who don’t smoke cigarettes and exercise regularly visit the doctor less. As a result, the cost to your employer to purchase insurance goes down. Health insurance companies charge them less because the company has a record of submitting fewer claims than their contemporaries.
6- Change your deductible.
Most people reform their healthcare by adjusting the limit on their deductible. By increasing it, the cost of the coverage goes down. If the savings you get outweighs the extra money you’d pay for a hospital stay, raising the amount will be cost effective. Also, consider lowering your deductible if you can’t afford to pay it and setting aside more out of each paycheck fits your budget better.
