Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable Fine Point Dry Erase Markers Package

Just about every dry erase marker I’ve ever used was pretty thick, even the supposed fine point dry erase markers I’ve used would probably be the equivalent of about a 5 mm gel ink pen, and thats not “point five” mm, thats FIVE mm.  They are just flat out thick, but then I found the Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable Pens (via Amazon) that are legitimate fine point dry erase markers that measure in at .6mm, yup, POINT 6 mm.

Before we even talk about the Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable fine point dry erase markers, there are two really cool things about these that I want to point out.  One of those things is pictured right before your eyes, and thats the cool carry case and stand that these come in.  Its a fairly sturdy plastic case with slots for each pen, but it also serves as a stand when the top is flipped open and back.  Pretty cool built in feature to have that makes it easier to grab the pen you are looking for.  The other really cool thing is that the Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable fine point dry erase markers are also refillable.  The refills aren’t super easy to come by, but you can find some here on Amazon.  When you click that link you will see that this Staedtler Refill Station is specifically designed for any of their Correctable 305 series of pens, which is what we are looking at here today.

Writing with the Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable Fine Point Dry Erase Markers turned out to be a mostly enjoyable experience.  I think this is fair since dry erase markers don’t tend to be the most elegant and precise writing tools out there.  My only real issue was that there seemed to be an occasional skipping of the ink, which was not really a big deal as I was able to either ignore or fix it each time it happened.  Having such a fine and easily controlled tip on a dry erase marker took a little getting used to, but its a fantastic change of pace.  These markers I should also note didn’t seem to have any noticeable odor to them, unlike many other dry erase markers.  In the photo above it may look like there are no clips on the pens to keep them from rolling, but if you look closely at the left hand side of the cap on the red marker, you can see that there is a small plastic nub that keeps it from rolling away.

The one thing you will definitely realize you need when using the Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable Fine Point Dry Erase Markers is an equally fine and precise eraser.  The erasers provided on the back of these markers do a sufficient job at removing the dry erase ink from  your white board, but with one caveat that may be a bit obvious.  With the very small size of these erasers, you aren’t going to be erasing huge diagrams and charts.  They are ideally suited though for erasing fine lines and small portions of drawings.  If you need to erase a large quantity of dry erase marker, your best bet is a regular full sized eraser, or a towel.  The small eraser does definitely do a good job of letting you clean up some of the fine details associated with drawing lines using this .6 mm dry erase marker. Its definitely a safe assumption to make that these Staedtler Lumocolor Correctable Fine Point Dry Erase Markers will become a staple of your every day writing arsenal if you find yourself looking for a way to write in detail or on smaller dry erase surfaces.  They aren’t super easy to find, but as always Amazon is usually your best bet.
