Think about the people who have been a positive influence in your life. It could be a parent, a partner, or a child. It could even be a friend, a neighbor, or an old school teacher. There are so many people that we have been close to in our lives. It doesnt matter if it was from years ago, if you never had the opportunity to tell them just how you felt about them, this is the perfect time, it is never too late. Set aside a special day, just for you and write them an inspirational letter telling them the positive influence they have had on your life. Select some attractive paper to write your letter on, it can be as elaborate or as simple as you feel comfortable with. Now, sit down and write a handwritten letter. Dont hold anything back, and tell this person what it is about them that you appreciate so much and how they have shaped your life in a positive way. Just tell them what is in your heart because they may never have known or been aware of what impressions, or the impact they had made on your life. This could impact their life in such a positive way that they in turn will want to write an inspirational letter for someone in their life that influenced them in a wonderful way.

The rewards gained by allowing yourself the gift of being able to tell that very sp

ecial someone, your emotions, your gratitude, it is precious. Dont be upset or surprised if they do not respond or perhaps even acknowledge what you have done. Some people feel uncomfortable with positive praise so just respect that and know you have done the right thing. Doing this has nothing to do with receiving a response back. Imagine how that person will feel, opening a handwritten letter from you, telling them, just how special they are. Though texting and emailing is easy and convenient, it has in a sense dehumanized our contacts. The very tool that was supposed to save us time has created more work and made us a little lazy in the personal interaction. If you have children, encourage them to do the same thing. The gift of writing an inspirational letter or receiving a personal letter in the mail is almost a thing of the past and is something we should try to do more often. Share the love and be generous with your thoughts and emotions and help make your small part of the world just a little kinder.

You might set aside a specific day each month or every few months to sit down and write someone special an inspirational letter. Write it on the calendar and make it a priority. Hopefully, they will do the same thing for someone else and they in turn will write an inspirational letter for someone else and on and on and on. You can change the world in a positive way, one letter at a time!
