Finding something for single people to do on Sunday in NYC may be easier than you think. Although, being single in New York City can be tough, there are many things that you can do alone such as singles parties, Sunday brunch or listening to relaxing music.
Crocodile Lounge
The Crocodile Lounge hosts parties and events that cater to single people. A speed dating get-together is one such thing for unattached people to do on a Sunday in NYC. The lounge has fun things for singles to do such as a challenging game of Skee-Ball. There are other activities to partake in and you can eat great tasting pizza while participating. The Crocodile Lounge is located at 325 East 14th Street.
Music at the Frick Collection
Enjoying great classical music at the Frick Collection is one of the many things single individuals can do on Sunday in NYC. This is an amazing experience that takes place in the stately mansion’s music room. There is no comparison to watching a great concert or performance at a breathtaking venue. Prominent musicians such as John O’Conor, Les Delicies and Thomas Zehetmair have played at this venue. The Frick collection is located at 1 East 70th Street (between Madison and Fifth Avenues). There is an admission fee of $18 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $5 for students with a valid ID. Children under ten are not admitted.
Eleven Madison Park
Having Sunday brunch has been a longstanding tradition in New York. Restaurants such as Eleven Madison Park will lay out a variety of food to cater to the different of tastes of people. They serve American or French cuisine. Brunch has always been a good way to meet other singles. Food is a good topic to act as an icebreaker, so you may have opportunities to strike up a conversation.
Oak Room’s Jazz Brunch
At the Oak Room, singles can enjoy their Sunday in NYC by relaxing and listening to jazz music while eating brunch. World class performers have played here including Barbara Carroll. It costs $70 which includes brunch and the show. For those interested in the show only, it costs $35. The Oak Room is located at the Algonquin Hotel, 59 West 44th Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues). This is a great place to meet up with other singles that have the same tastes in music.
Walking
Walking is one of the best and cost effective activities for single people. Sunday is a day that offers a different atmosphere than any other day. You can walk the Brooklyn Bridge, explore the spectacular skyline of the South Street Seaport and the city’s surrounding areas. Many of the roads in Central Park are closed to traffic on Sunday and you can wander through them, while viewing the skyscrapers.
Single people can find many activities to do on the weekend in NYC. You don’t have to sit alone at home watching a movie and eating popcorn. Go out and explore NYC through brunch, music shows or by simply walking through the city’s parks.
