Write Dudes Metallic Markers Doane Paper

During my usual surfing of Amazon.com for cool office supplies, I stumbled across the Write Dudes Infinity Permanent Metallic Markers, which is a brand I’ve seen at Target before, but never actually purchased.  Because these sounded pretty cool, I figured I’d go out on a limb and order a set.

One interesting thing about these markers is that there is no attempt to actually label each of the colors, so I had to take it upon myself, and I came up with the following:

  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Purple
  • Copper
  • Light Green
  • Dark Green
  • Rose
  • Blue

These are the best descriptions in my mind but we all see colors a bit differently, and posting a scan of them on a computer monitor is even more ambiguous since every computer will display them a bit differently.  At the end of the day though, the Write Dudes Infinity Permanent Metallic Markers are an excellent toy and tool to have around the house.

So I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical about the Write Dudes Metallic Markers, but as soon as I got them, I uncapped them and went to work scrawling on some bright white paper as you can see above in my scan on some nice Doane Paper.  The performed really well on the Doane Paper with fairly minimal show through and absolutely zero bleed.  Although I forgot to document it in the scan, these also dry relatively quickly, on the Doane Paper they resisted a finger smear at about 2 seconds, however on the plastic cover of the Black n’ Red notebook it took closer to 20 seconds to completely dry.

Interestingly enough, the Write Dudes metallic Markers actually perform really well not only on white paper, but also on dark surfaces, such as the polypropylene (plastic) cover as you can see above.  The camera doesn’t really pick up the metallic hues of these permanent markers, but take my word for it that in person you can definitely see the uniqueness of the inks on these.

Beyond the very cool ink that these markers possess, they also have a very comfortable writing grip due to the triangular grip of the pens.  I tried to get a good photograph of the grip from a head on perspective here and I think it worked, but you can get the idea that its not just your basic cylindrical grip on these.

The Write Dudes Infinity Permanent Metallic Markers, are definitely worth picking up because they can be a great way to write on stuff that is traditionally a bit too dark for standard permanent markers.  The metallic coloring gives them a stand out look and makes them great for those unique projects where being able to write on dark surfaces is a must.  I’m going to need to do a more in-depth and scientific study on their durability and such like I did with the Bic Mark it and Sharpie Comparison write up.
